MUSICNSW offers tax pack for Musicians
MusicNSW has put together an amazing tax pack tool for musicians. Check it out here
Entertainment Assist branches out
Entertainment Assist, the Melbourne-based charity to help musicians and backstage personnel who’re down and out, will launch on August 31 under its new name (it used to be called Music Assist). It will hold a fund-raiser at the Sofitel on October 28 for its work with those who are unemployed, homeless, lack food, and have drug, alcohol and anger management problems. Board members are JPJ Audio’s Larry Ponting (chairman), manager and promoter Wally Bishop (vice-chairman), musician and event producer Ian B Allen (secretary), financial guru Michael Roseby (treasurer), lawyer Phillip Dwyer (public officer), publicist Julie Cavanagh (PR), theatrical producer Dennis Smith (event development), Showtech Australia’s Robyn Good (director) and marketing and business development specialist Susan Cooper (GM). Patrons include the governor general Quentin Bryce, Jeanne Pratt, Michael Gudinski, Molly Meldrum, Iva Davies, Renee Geyer and Richard East.
